The lighting control dream team
DALI-2 presence detectors and sensors

Theben presence detectors offer the perfect solution for presence-dependent and efficient lighting control. With a sensing area of up to nine metres, TheRonda S standard presence detectors are particularly well suited for small offices, sunlit service areas and wet rooms. The power range of TheRonda detectors P is truly effective in open-plan offices and classrooms, for example, thanks to its detection range of up to 25 m and Master/Master parallel switching.

TheRonda DALI presence detectors combine all the benefits of the DALI bus system with the legendary premium quality of Theben - all in an
intelligent, efficient and flexible package. They can also be connected to conventional switches. Customers are free to choose any generic switch and enjoy maximum design freedom.

The assignment of switches to individual lighting groups can be changed at any time without any problems, even after installation. This eliminates the need for major wiring modifications. With theRonda DALI presence detectors, up to three lighting groups can be controlled using one DALI wire, saving considerable time and money during installation.
If one DALI device needs to be replaced and a new one installed, the presence detector automatically identifies the new one and performs the configuration itself.

Simply smart
Great arguments for DALI presence detectors

Installation has never been easier

One wire for three groups

Control two or three lighting groups with a single DALI wire. This means fewer wires and reduces the time and money spent on installation. No need for new wiring if any changes are needed later.

  Simple addressing

Grouping the different DALI lamps always seemed like a difficult task? Now you can say goodbye to that. With the TheRonda P360-330, all connected DALI luminaires can be easily grouped using the switch, TheSenda B remote control or the app, in just a few simple steps.

  For all applications

theRonda DALI presence detectors can operate in "broadcast" mode with one lighting channel and as "addressable" devices with two to three lighting channels on a single DALI line.

Traditional push button

theRonda DALI presence detectors can be connected to almost any conventional switch family, giving customers maximum design freedom.

  Automatic configuration

If a DALI device needs to be replaced due to a fault, the presence detector identifies the new one and automatically performs the configuration - without the need for any further changes to the design.

 Flexible channel allocation

Want to change the task of a button after installation? No problem! The assignment of lighting groups can be easily changed at any time using the remote control, no need to rewire.

Easy to program

Intelligent learning function

TheRonda learns the desired brightness value at the touch of a button. Simply press and hold the button for 15 seconds when the lighting conditions are right and the system will store the brightness as a default value. Alternatively, you can use the remote control to record the value.

  Adjustable sensitivity

How sensitive theRonda is to movement in the room is entirely up to you. The PIR sensors can be conveniently adjusted using the remote control to suit the individual needs of the user.

  Practical test function

With the test function, the size of the detection area can be checked and adjusted immediately after installation. This is true even in daylight, where conventional presence detectors usually do not respond. This prevents detection errors.

Intelligent lighting control

Constant brightness control

Constant light metering constantly compares artificial light with daylight and adjusts the amount of artificial light needed. No matter how changeable the weather, the interior lighting conditions remain pleasantly constant.

  Three control speeds

Three control speeds are available for the permanent dimming function. This allows theRonda to be perfectly matched to your application needs.

Self-study switch-off delay

The delay automatically varies between 2 and 20 minutes, depending on how people are in the room. This saves energy, increases comfort and allows people to work the way they want.

More applications

Safety thanks to the compass light

In buildings such as hotels or hospitals, the "beacon" function increases the sense of security. When movement occurs, the lighting is adjusted up to the set value and then returns to the "directional" light level after a set delay time.

  Constant light measurement

thRonda continuously measures the brightness in the room. This means that it turns off the lights when it detects enough daylight and turns them back on when there is not enough light. This is more convenient and also reduces energy consumption.

Easy to use remote control

With theSenda P remote control or theSenda app, settings can be changed conveniently, even from the ground. This reduces installation time and costs. Users can even choose between two different lighting images using theSenda S remote control.

Low costs

Maximum efficiency

64 DALI ballasts can be connected to the master device. This allows larger rooms such as classrooms, sports halls or offices to be operated using a single master device.

  Low standby power consumption

TheRonda not only saves significant energy as a presence detector, but thanks to its sophisticated technology, the standby power consumption can be reduced to less than 0.3 W with the new DALI power supply.

Versatile features and benefits

up to a ceiling height of 10-15 metres

TheRonda P stands out from other presence detectors thanks to its extremely large, circular detection area. It is ideal for large spaces with high ceilings, such as entrance halls, sports halls, warehouses and single-space offices.

  Simple energy saving settings

"Eco" mode means optimum switching conditions, "Eco plus" mode means maximum energy savings. At the touch of a button, you can decide which is best for you. Exactly the way you want it. And exactly what you need. There is no easier way to save energy.

Protected against splashing water

TheRonda S has IP 54 protection, making it an ideal choice for wet rooms.

Practical short-term presence

In the case of short-time presence detection, the light is on for only 2 minutes. This is because theRonda detects not only that someone is in the room, but also how long they have been there. This means that if someone enters the room for only a short time, it will not automatically trigger the set delay, the short time will be active, but still not be without light.

  Custom lighting images

Brightly glowing or softly dimmed light: you can choose between two lighting scenes, which you can adjust as you like. For example, in conference rooms where the light needs to be reduced for presentations. Settings can be quickly saved and changed using the remote control.

Intelligent parallel switching

theRonda allows independent and individual adjustment of lighting in the sensing area of each device, using Master/Master parallel switching. Ideally, the different lighting conditions balance each other between areas near windows and areas inside the room, for example in single-space offices.

Addressing has never been easier than with a push button, remote control or app

With theRonda DALI P360-330, up to 64 connected DALI lights can be easily grouped together with push buttons, remote control or
theSenda B /App in a minimum of time. All it takes is four simple steps. This is how it works:

1. step
2. step
3. step
4. step

After installation, the TheRonda P360-330 automatically identifies all connected DALI lamps, giving them a short address and putting them in a list.
The lamps are then in broadcast mode at 100% brightness. The sensor waits for configuration and indicates this with a flashing LED light.

Five short and one long button presses start the grouping process.
The DALI lamp starts pulsing.
Press the button once to assign it to group 1, two button presses to group 2 and three to group 3.
It is even easier to perform grouping remotely via theSenda app

The next light starts flashing. Proceed in the same way as in step 2 until all the lamps are distributed among the three groups.
This is followed by a visual feedback: all the lamps automatically dim to 20% brightness.

Once all the DALI EBs are configured, TheRonda P will return to normal operation and the configuration will be completed.
The group assignment can be easily controlled or changed if necessary using the buttons or remote control.

Connection to building automation
DALI-2 presence sensors for all applications

Perfect light management is achieved with a master controller and presence sensors. The DALI-2 standard ensures compatibility between different manufacturers. This allows DALI-2 presence detectors to be operated with any Multimaster-Application-Controller that meets the requirements of IEC 62386 101/104.
As an input device, the presence detector provides information on presence detection and photometry according to IEC 62386 part 303 or 304 via the DALI bus.
The master controller supervises the complete functionality, such as switching, continuous lighting control, full or semi-automatic, manual override, lighting images, etc.
DALI-2 presence detectors also support remote control commands for dimming or switching lights, controlling shutters or other functions. The presence detector transmits this information via the DALI bus to the master system in accordance with IEC 62386 part 301. This information is used to trigger the desired actions.

Added value of DALI-2 presence detectors

  • More flexibility as DALI-2 components can be replaced at any time without rewiring or programming.
  • More choice thanks to the interoperability of DALI-2 components
  • The easier installation of all DALI-2 components (ECG, sensor, button) on a single wire reduces time and material costs.
  • More malfunctioning due to mandatory standard.
